Dr. Mag. Friederike Jandl
Private General Practitioner – I Take Time for Your Health
In a time when medicine is becoming increasingly specialised and daily practice ever more hectic, many people long for personal, comprehensive medical care beyond time pressure and assembly-line medicine. As a private general practitioner, I can offer you exactly that: my medical support, which does not only treat symptoms but sees the person as a whole – with body, mind, soul, and their life circumstances.
As a doctor of integrative medicine, I combine the best of conventional medicine and complementary therapies. I complement my training in classical general medicine with in-depth knowledge and many years of experience in areas such as microbiome and gut health, orthomolecular medicine, functional myodiagnostics, longevity, and biohacking. The aim is not only to cure diseases but to strengthen your health – individually, sustainably, and holistically.
What does “private general practitioner” mean?
As a private general practitioner, I am not directly bound by the regulations of statutory health insurers. This means: more time for your concerns, comprehensive medical history, individual diagnostics and therapies tailored personally to you, free from time pressure and standard solutions.
After your appointment, you will receive a fee invoice which you can submit to your health insurance. Depending on your policy, part of the costs may be reimbursed. Many supplementary insurance plans cover a large portion or even the entire cost of treatment.
Your benefits at a glance:
- Comprehensive medical care at the highest level
- Linking conventional diagnostic methods with holistic therapies
- Time for your questions, concerns, and needs
- Holistic view of your health and lifestyle
- Personal support – from prevention to therapy
For whom is a general practitioner specialising in holistic medicine the right choice?
For anyone who desires individualised, respectful, and comprehensive medical care. For people who want to actively shape their health. And for those who wish to be understood and supported not only as patients but as whole human beings.
Modern F.X. Mayr Medicine
Your Source of Health, Vitality and Renewed Joy in Life
Modern F.X. Mayr Medicine is far more than a traditional intestinal cleansing: it is a holistic health concept that profoundly detoxifies and regenerates the body, mind and metabolism. Developed by the Austrian physician Dr Franz Xaver Mayr, this method combines conventional medical knowledge with elements of naturopathy, functional medicine and modern diagnostics. At its core lies the healing of the digestive system – our “centre” – as the key to health, immune strength and vitality.

Why the gut is so important
A healthy gut is far more than a well-functioning digestive organ. It influences, among other things, the immune system, hormone regulation, our skin, our energy levels and even our mood: more than 90 percent of our “happiness hormone” serotonin is produced and stored in the gut. Chronic fatigue, digestive issues, skin problems, susceptibility to infections or general exhaustion can all be signs of impaired gut health.
What modern F.X. Mayr Medicine means today
In its modern interpretation, the F.X. Mayr therapy includes not only the proven principles of rest, cleansing, training and substitution, but also modern diagnostic procedures such as microbiome analysis, micronutrient check-ups and individual metabolic testing. The goal is to identify and treat the root causes of health issues in a holistic way – always tailored to the patient’s lifestyle, diet and personal needs.
Who is F.X. Mayr Therapy suitable for?
This form of therapy is particularly suitable for individuals with:- Digestive complaints (e.g. bloating, irritable bowel, constipation)
- Chronic fatigue or burnout symptoms
- Skin conditions or allergies
- Metabolic disorders (e.g. prediabetes, insulin resistance)
- Hormonal imbalances
- Unexplained weight gain or resistance to weight loss

But even healthy individuals who wish to consciously integrate a “reboot” phase into their daily lives can benefit from an F.X. Mayr therapy. Many report feeling lighter, thinking more clearly, sleeping more deeply and having significantly more energy.
Your path to modern F.X. Mayr Medicine
In my integrative medical practice, I combine the principles of F.X. Mayr Medicine with the latest medical findings, gentle methods of naturopathy, and a deep understanding of the individual needs of my patients. I accompany you attentively on your path to a healthy gut – and to a new sense of vitality and joy in your body.
Start your personal Mayr therapy – individually tailored and professionally guided.
Orthomolecular Medicine:
Health Through Optimal & Personalised Nutrient Supply

Orthomolecular medicine is an important pillar of integrative medicine. The term “orthomolecular” originates from Greek and means “the right molecules”. The aim of this form of therapy is to supply the body with exactly those substances – in optimal dosages – that it needs to function in a healthy way, individually tailored to your personal needs and concerns.
Orthomolecular medicine uses vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, fatty acids and other natural micronutrients that naturally occur in the human body, in order to supply your organism optimally. The goal of supplementation is to ensure the best possible functioning of all cells, organs and metabolic processes, thus supporting healing and maintaining long-term health.
Our modern way of life – shaped by stress, unbalanced nutrition, environmental toxins, chronic diseases and the use of medication – often leads to deficiencies in these essential micronutrients. Even minor deficits can disrupt the body’s balance and have a lasting impact on vitality, immune function, digestion and even mood.
Orthomolecular medicine addresses exactly this: following a personal consultation and – where appropriate – targeted laboratory diagnostics, I develop a bespoke treatment concept to compensate for existing deficiencies. This is not about generic supplements, but precise, medically guided support using high-quality vital substances, individually adapted to your personal requirements.
Who can benefit most from orthomolecular medicine?
- Chronic fatigue and burnout
- Digestive complaints, irritable bowel syndrome
- Susceptibility to infections
- Difficulty concentrating, “brain fog”, sleep disorders
- Depressive moods
- Hormonal imbalances
- As support in prevention and regeneration
- To optimise physical performance – also for athletes
In my practice, I combine conventional medical expertise with the power of natural therapies – holistically, individually, and with the goal of strengthening your body’s self-healing abilities. Orthomolecular medicine is a gentle and effective way to bring body, mind and soul into balance. Through a comprehensive medical history and targeted laboratory analysis – such as blood or stool tests – we determine your personal micronutrient status. Based on this, we create a personalised therapy plan that includes high-quality supplements and – where necessary – tailored infusion therapies, because the art of effective dosage lies in the precise alignment of vital substances to your needs.
Discover for yourself how targeted micronutrient therapy can noticeably improve your well-being.

„Health is not a coincidence – it arises when we give the body exactly what it silently demands.“
Functional Myodiagnostics
Tracing the Root Causes

This method of Functional Medicine uses your muscle response as a diagnostic tool to detect hidden causes of your symptoms. Whether chronic pain, fatigue, digestive issues, allergies or other health problems – the underlying causes often run deeper than initially suspected. Applied Kinesiology is an innovative diagnostic procedure that reveals physical, psychological and biochemical interconnections within the body.
What is Functional myodiagnostics?
Functional Myodiagnostics (Applied Kinesiology) is a diagnostic method that combines conventional medical knowledge with insights from complementary medicine. Developed in the 1960s by American chiropractor Dr George Goodheart, it is now used by specially trained doctors – particularly in the field of functional and holistic medicine, as
Functional myodiagnostics is recognised by the Austrian Medical Association as a complementary medical method with a special diploma.
How does the diagnostic method work?
At the core of this method is the so-called manual muscle test, with the human muscle serving as the measuring instrument. The test assesses changes in the tension of specific muscles while the body is exposed to various stimuli or substances – such as certain foods, medications, or targeted testing of organs.
A healthy muscle responds with stable strength. However, if there is a strain, disruption or imbalance in the body – for example in the digestive system, the hormonal system or the musculoskeletal system – the muscle response changes. This change serves as an indicator of underlying functional correlations that often remain hidden in conventional examinations.
What can Functional myodiagnostics detect?
Functional myodiagnostics is widely used in holistic diagnostics and therapy, including in the following areas:
- Chronic pain
- Intolerances and allergies
- Disorders of the digestive tract (e.g. constipation, diarrhoea, irritable bowel)
- Sleep disorders and states of exhaustion
- Hormonal imbalances
- Consequences of stress, burnout
- Recurring infections
Why Functional myodiagnostics?
In my practice, I combine conventional medical expertise with the healing power of nature and state-of-the-art diagnostics. Functional myodiagnostics is a central component of this integrative approach. It helps to better understand your body, treat it more precisely – and sustainably promote your health.

Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation:
Gentle Paths to Healing and New Quality of Life
When pain, restricted movement or chronic ailments dominate daily life, targeted help is needed: individually tailored, holistically conceived, and medically sound. As a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, I combine conventional medical expertise with proven methods from complementary medicine – enabling a sustainable healing process that considers body, mind, and soul in equal measure.
Physical medicine focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders – involving muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments and nerves – using non-surgical methods. The therapy primarily relies on natural stimuli such as heat, cold, electrical currents, water, massage or targeted exercise – always with the aim of activating the body’s self-healing powers, relieving pain, regulating inflammation, and specifically improving mobility.
Typical areas of application include:
- Back pain, disc problems, sciatica
- Joint degeneration (osteoarthritis), rheumatic diseases
- Muscular tension or weakness
- Rehabilitation following surgery or injury
- Chronic pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia

Modern Mayr Medicine
…has also proven to be the perfect complement in this field. During inpatient Mayr therapy programmes – which I supervised for many years at a private clinic on Lake Altaussee that is also popular among international guests – chronic pain in the musculoskeletal system often significantly improved, or in some cases, patients even experienced complete relief from pain during their stay.
Fascia Therapy according to Typaldos: not gentle, but effective
This manual therapy is another excellent addition for patients suffering from persistent pain. Do you experience back pain, limited mobility, or sports injuries that do not respond to conventional treatments? Fascia therapy according to Typaldos offers an innovative approach that directly addresses the root cause of complaints. As a doctor of integrative medicine, I combine this highly effective method with conventional medical knowledge to offer you a holistic solution.
What are fasciae – and why are they so important?
Fasciae are delicate, mesh-like connective tissue that surround and interconnect muscles, organs, joints, and nerves. They provide stability, transmit force, and function as the body’s internal communication system. Injuries, poor posture or overuse can twist, stick together or displace these structures – creating what are known as fascial distortions. The consequences include pain, loss of strength, or a sensation of “blockages” in the body.
How does fascia therapy according to Typaldos work?
The Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) was developed by Dr Stephen Typaldos – an American physician, osteopath, and emergency medicine specialist. It identifies six specific types of tissue distortion. Through precise diagnosis – based on your pain description and body language – I determine the underlying fascial distortion.
Treatment is carried out using manual techniques:
- Targeted pressure along fascial pathways releases adhesions
- Specific manipulations correct twists in joint regions
- Broad-surface grip techniques restore the gliding ability of superficial fasciae
By combining precise manual techniques with medical expertise, I offer you a unique treatment option – patient-centred and results-oriented. Experience for yourself the effectiveness of this method.
Microbiome Testing
Understanding the Gut, Promoting Health Holistically
A healthy gut is the key to a healthy life. But how is your gut health really doing? Microbiome testing provides valuable answers: individualised, precise, and scientifically sound.
The microbiome encompasses the entirety of microorganisms that inhabit our gut. These trillions of bacteria, viruses and fungi perform essential functions for our health: they support digestion, regulate the immune system, influence inflammatory processes, control nutrient absorption, and even have a significant impact on our mood and zest for life. When this highly complex system becomes imbalanced, it can lead to a wide range of complaints: bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, chronic fatigue, food intolerances, allergies, susceptibility to infections, and skin problems are just a few examples.

Why is microbiome testing useful?
Many health complaints originate in the gut and often go undetected for a long time. Stool analysis makes it possible to address your symptoms in a targeted and individualised way. Using modern laboratory diagnostics, the composition and diversity of your gut flora are analysed, and potential imbalances, harmful pathogens, and a weakened intestinal barrier (leaky gut) are identified.
Testing is particularly recommended in cases of:
- Chronic digestive issues
- Skin conditions (such as eczema or acne)
- Autoimmune diseases
- Recurring infections
- Unexplained fatigue or difficulty concentrating
- Mood swings or depressive episodes
- Existing food intolerances
- After antibiotic therapy

Integrative treatment based on your microbiome values:
As a doctor of integrative medicine, I combine conventional medical expertise with holistic approaches and focus on personalised therapies. After the microbiome analysis, you will receive a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs. This may include the use of pre- and probiotics, herbal preparations, nutritional supplements to support your gut flora, targeted nutritional therapy, and additional protective measures for your gut lining.
The goal is to restore and strengthen your gut flora sustainably, creating the foundation for vitality, well-being, and long-term health.
Heavy Metal Detoxification
Heavy Metal Detoxification
Relief for Body and Mind
Every day, we are unknowingly exposed to various environmental toxins – including heavy metals such as mercury, lead, aluminium, arsenic or cadmium. These enter the body through the air, food, drinking water, dental fillings or even cosmetics, and can accumulate in tissues, organs and especially the nervous system. Modern medicine now recognises that chronic exposure to heavy metals can cause a wide range of non-specific symptoms and chronic conditions. Heavy metals in the body impair detoxification, disrupt gut health, hormonal balance, and enzyme systems. Possible symptoms include fatigue, difficulty concentrating, “brain fog” and skin problems, as well as digestive complaints, susceptibility to infections or unexplained pain.
Heavy metal detoxification – also known as chelation therapy or detox therapy – is a core component of integrative medicine. The aim is to safely and specifically eliminate toxic metals from the body, relieve the immune system and activate the body’s self-healing powers.

In my practice, heavy metal detoxification is carried out gently, individually tailored and under medical supervision. Proven chelating agents, supportive micronutrients and herbal preparations are used. In addition, as an F.X. Mayr physician, I place great emphasis on healthy gut function – as it plays a key role in detoxification – and I also strengthen the function of the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system – the body’s natural detoxification organs.
Who may benefit from heavy metal detoxification?
- Chronic fatigue, “brain fog” or exhaustion
- After removal of amalgam dental fillings
- Chronic inflammatory conditions or autoimmune processes
- Skin problems, allergies or hormonal imbalances
- As part of general prevention and health maintenance
Many patients report increased energy levels, mental clarity and noticeably improved wellbeing following professionally guided heavy metal detoxification.
Let us find out together whether heavy metal detoxification is right for you – gentle, safe, and individually tailored to your health.
Longevity, Biohacking and Infusion Therapies
Living Longer in Good Health
In our modern world full of possibilities, enjoying health well into old age has become achievable. The goal of modern longevity medicine is to extend your healthspan – the years you can live with vitality and zest for life. I have been optimising my own health and performance for years to stay “outrageously healthy”.
In my private practice, I combine sound conventional medicine with innovative approaches from functional medicine, biohacking, and targeted infusion therapies. The result: a tailor-made health concept for people who want more out of life – vitality, joy and genuine prevention.

What does Longevity mean?
“Longevity” refers to living a long life – but not just in years, more importantly in healthy, active years. Scientific studies show that many age-related diseases such as cardiovascular conditions, type 2 diabetes or dementia can be significantly influenced through early prevention, nutrition, exercise, and targeted medical intervention. Longevity medicine addresses exactly this – individualised, precise and sustainable.
Biohacking – smart self-optimisation
Biohacking applies scientifically proven methods to specifically strengthen body and mind. These include targeted blood analysis, mitochondrial boosting, micronutrient therapy, optimisation of sleep and stress regulation, or intermittent fasting. The aim: to activate the body’s natural regeneration and repair mechanisms – for more energy, mental clarity, and a strong immune system.
Infusion Therapies – deep-acting support from within
Vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants delivered via infusion act directly where they are needed – inside the cells. In modern longevity medicine, individually tailored infusion protocols have proven highly effective: for example, to support cell regeneration, detoxification, burnout, exhaustion, long COVID, or to boost the immune system. High-dose vitamin C, glutathione or alpha-lipoic acid infusions – among many other active substances – are used in a targeted manner.
If you don’t just want to live longer, but want to fully enjoy every stage of life, then this type of medicine is exactly right for you. Together, we will define your health goals – whether that means pain-free mobility or taking part in sporting competitions at 70. I will work with you to develop a personalised plan – because your second half of life deserves to be extraordinary.
Telemedicine
I myself grew up in an “analogue” world – and looking back, I consider that a blessing. As a child, we actually still had what was called a “shared telephone line”: a telephone connection shared between four households in the same building, where only one could use the phone at a time while the others had to wait.
But I, too, have come to appreciate the benefits of telemedicine – medical consultations via video conference – as a valuable addition to in-person appointments at my practice. Blood test results, follow-up discussions and similar matters can be addressed very well via video and make it much easier for many patients – whether due to limited mobility or large geographical distance – to access my medical consultation on a regular basis.
However, in my opinion, nothing can truly replace a personal consultation on site and a comprehensive in-person medical examination.

About me
Why Being a Doctor Is Not Just My Profession but Rather My Calling!
Some paths are not chosen – they choose you. Even as a child, my health posed daily puzzles: I was noticeably underweight, although I ate well and often, had a constantly elevated body temperature, a bloated stomach, chronic digestive complaints, joint pain jumping from one joint to another, iron deficiency, migraines, fatigue – and as a young adult, therapy-resistant acne as well.
Numerous examinations, many visits to doctors – yet no clear diagnosis. A colonoscopy showed only a “non-specific inflammation” of the large intestine. I was advised to take antibiotics – for life. Also, the way to a psychiatrist. But no one asked: Could this non-specific inflammation in the gut be the common denominator and thus the cause of all these symptoms?

Even as a child, my health posed daily puzzles: I was noticeably underweight, although I ate well and often, had a constantly elevated body temperature, a bloated stomach, chronic digestive complaints, joint pain jumping from one joint to another, iron deficiency, migraines, fatigue syndrome – and as a young adult, therapy-resistant acne as well.
Numerous examinations, many visits to doctors – yet no clear diagnosis. A colonoscopy showed only a “non-specific inflammation” of the colon. I was advised to take antibiotics – for life. Also I was suggested to see a psychiatrist. But no one asked: Could this non-specific inflammation in the gut be the common denominator and thus the cause of all these symptoms?
I was young, but I already felt then: the answer did not lie in symptom suppression but in understanding the whole.
After years of following every straw and every unlikely possibility to get well, I fortunately did visit the recommended psychiatrist and found in him my highly respected mentor, who accompanied me as a friend for many years – until his death. He himself believed that the causes of my complaints were not on the psychological level but on the physical level and ignited in me the idea – although I was already a trained legal expert at the time – to study medicine myself.
These personal experiences became the starting point of my current path. I truly studied medicine later in life – via the “second educational path” – with the burning desire to really explore and understand the connections between digestion, immune system, metabolism, and psyche. And ultimately, incredibly, I found the right diagnosis myself during my studies. I will never forget that moment: I was sitting in a lecture on “Functional Pathology” and the professor listed my symptoms – I really felt as if she was talking about me. She was also so kind as to answer all my questions after the lecture.
An intolerance or perhaps a true allergy to gluten was the answer at that time. Just two weeks of a gluten-free diet – and a multitude of my symptoms disappeared! What no doctor had been able to explain to me before, I had discovered myself.
And that is exactly what drives me today: I want to be the doctor for my patients that I long wished for myself – one who listens, takes time, thinks holistically, and wants to get to the root of the causes.
In my private practice, I combine scientifically based conventional medicine with established methods of complementary medicine, with your gut health at the centre according to the principles of F.X. Mayr.
Because: Health is not a state, but a process. And every person brings their own story – just as I do myself.
I am happy to accompany you on your unique path to health, vitality, and joy of life!
